A Work of Art: Simply Beautiful

So here you have it, more than meets the eye. Although it was not easy to construct such a specimen with such a primitive Java drawing package (click here or above to view the Java code), I stood firm in my values of artsy-ness and meaning-ness (put the dictionary down, just trust me). This picture is not void of hidden meanings and deep thoughts (for these are what make it so grand). I will explain the depth and meaning below, but, if you are of sound mind, you may want to gaze thoughtfully at the masterpiece above in wonderment while you ponder its implications.

The meaning imbedded in the picture is nothing short of astounding. The overt declaration of the "love of computer science" (which is, of course, the root of all evil) on the shirt with the red heart is sharply contrasted by the obvious dismay displayed on the young man's face. Although he is a young man, in some ways, he is no longer so young. Clearly the cruel trauma he has suffered at the hands of computer science has turned his hair quite gray. Truly it is sad to see a young man with such a promising future bogged down by misplaced or mistreated love. The victim has also been brought to tears by a more recent affair with computer science. It is indeed a saddening snapshot in the flip-book of a computer scientist's life; however it is also heartening to see such a brave man take on such an unforgiving task that makes each one of our lives easier and more enjoyable. So, I just want to say, "Thank you computer scientist. Thank you for taking one for the team!"
