As you may know, this is a crevasse. While hiking on the Franz-Josef Glacier, I nearly fell into one! Our group was walking single file just a meter or so from a crevasse like this one on either side of us. My right crampon got caught on my left pantleg, and as I fell to the ice, I grabbed onto the girl (Trisha) in front of me. If she wasn't there, I might not be here. I still have the jeans with that souvenir of a tear on the left pantleg.

This is the view from our second night's bayside campsite on the Queen Charlotte Track in late August. I love this picture.

I took this photo on a brief tramp (hike) with a group of Butler students during my stay at the Shakespear Lodge near Auckland in my first week in the faraway land.
I know there's nothing especially significant about this sign, but I thought the flower and the antlers were aesthetically pleasing. So I captured it in circuits.
This is a great view of Dunedin from the north. The University of Otago's campus and downtown Dunedin are on the righthand portion of the photo.
Taken from Mount Eden, this is a great view of Eden Park and the surrounding residential area of Auckland. Within days of when I took this picture, the New Zealand All Blacks (New Zealand's national rugby team) played here and crushed the Irish.
This coconut tree overlooked the small swimming pool at my resort in Fiji.
The summer night came reluctantly to the tiny island nation of Fiji in mid-December.
